What is the Rangers Reach 50/50 raffle?

The Rangers Reach 50/50 is the biggest 50/50 raffle in the Ontario Hockey League, turning fan support into local community impact.

It’s the ultimate win-win for fans! When you purchase a 50/50 ticket, half of the proceeds are allocated to the grand prize. The other half goes to Rangers Reach – the community fund of the Kitchener Rangers – to fund grants and scholarships that support local organizations and create opportunities for young people across Waterloo Region.

Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 50/50 draw tickets:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older at the time of purchase
  • Must be located in the province of Ontario at time of purchase
  • Must not be one of the following:
(a) Members of Rangers Reach®’s Board of Directors;
(b) Full time, part-time and student employees of Rangers Reach®,
(c) Persons who are directly on Rangers Reach®’s payroll;
(d) Rangers Reach®’s employees who are on paid or unpaid leave;
(e) Persons under the age of 18 years

You may be you will be required to verify your eligibility prior to purchase.

Do I need to live in Ontario to play?

You do not need to live in Ontario to purchase a 50/50 ticket, but you must be physically located within Ontario at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.  

Players must also be physically located in Ontario at the time of opting in to a 50/50 subscription. Learn more about Rangers Reach 50/50 subscriptions here.

How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?

Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types: Visa, VISA Debit, Mastercard, Mastercard Debit, Amex.

  • VISA and VISA Debit
  • Mastercard and Mastercard Debit
  • AMEX

Can I get a tax receipt for my 50/50 ticket purchase?

No. Lottery ticket purchases are not tax deductible because there is a chance you will be winning a prize.

Can I purchase a ticket as a gift?

Yes. Enter the giftee's information under 'Personal Information' and enter your own information under 'Payment Information'.  If you'd like to gift the tickets in person, enter your email address so the tickets are sent to you. You can then print them and present them to the giftee.

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold. There is no limit to the number of tickets that may be sold.

How is the winning number drawn?

A winning number is randomly selected from all numbers purchased for this draw, using a computer-based random number generator certified by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

How do I find out if I have a winning 50/50 ticket?

Winning 50/50 ticket numbers are announced live on game days and shared on the Rangers Reach website and social media channels.

All draws take place during the third period of a Kitchener Rangers home game, as outlined in the Rules of Play. Some raffles run over a longer period, including Super September, Mega Jackpots, and Bonus Raffles.

How do I claim my prize?

If you have the winning 50/50 number, please contact 5050@rangersreach.com. All prizes must be claimed within 6 months of the relevant draw unless otherwise specified. If at the expiry of 6 months the prize has not been claimed, the prize will be donated to charitable organization.

I purchased a 50/50 ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your spam folder in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket, email 5050@rangersreach.com and our support staff will re-send your raffle numbers (verification will be required).

Rangers Reach 50/50 uses Single Number, Multi Chance tickets. You will receive one 50/50 ticket number, but that number will be entered into the draw once for every chance you purchase. For examples, if you purchase a ticket with 400 chances, you will receive one number that is entered into the raffle 400 times. 

Why does the website require my location?

Your current location is required to confirm eligibility. You must be located in Ontario at the time of purchase of your 50/50 tickets to be eligible to play. The Rangers Reach 50/50 may not be accessible outside of Ontario and where prohibited by law, rule, or regulation.

You must allow your browser to share your location to purchase tickets. If you selected ‘Do not allow’ and you are located in Ontario, refresh the webpage to prompt to be sent again. If you have restricted location sharing on your device, may need to update your device settings by following the steps below to proceed.

Mobile

iOS Devices:
1) Go to the Settings App.
2) Go to Privacy.
3) Go into Location Services.
4) Ensure "Location Services" are on.
5) Scroll down and click "Safari Websites."
6) Make sure that Allow Location Access is set to "While Using the App."

Android Devices:
1) Go to Settings App.
2) Go to Location and make sure that it is on.
3) Go back to previous screen and go to Apps.
4) Go to Chrome.
5) Click Permissions.
6) Ensure that Location is enabled.
Note: If still experiencing problems, go to maps.google.com in your browser and see where it places you.

Desktop

Google Chrome:
1) Open Chrome and click the three dots (menu) in the top-right corner.
2) Scroll down and select 'Settings'.
3) Click 'Privacy and security' on the left menu.
4) Click 'Site settings'.
5) Click 'Location' and ensure 'Sites can ask for your location' is selected.

Microsoft Edge:
1) Open Edge and click the three dots in the top-right corner.
2) Select 'Settings'.
3) Click 'Privacy, security, and services' on the left menu.
4) Click 'Site permissions'.
5) Click 'All Permissions'.
6) Click 'Location' and ensure the 'Ask before accessing (recommended)' toggle is turned on.
